The Solaris Operating System
(Solaris OS) is the foundation on which some of the
world's leading companies are built.
Offering high levels of reliability, availability,
security, and scalability, Solaris systems meet today's
demands while anticipating tomorrow's innovation.
Sun's philosophy is that certification is central to the
learning process as it provides validation of knowledge
and skills required for specific job roles. Sun
certification also offers a natural progression to
support your career goals.
-
First, learn how to perform the essential system
administration procedures on the Solaris OS, and
then demonstrate these skills by becoming a Sun
Certified System Administrator.
-
Next, we train experienced system administrators on
the skills required to administer Sun systems in a
networked environment, which can be validated by
becoming a Sun Certified Network Administrator.
-
Afterwards, you can pursue specialty training and
certification in security administration for the
Solaris OS, which helps enable career growth into a
more specific job role making you more valuable to
an organization.
Sun offers the following
Solaris OS professional certifications:
-
Sun Certified System Administrator
(SCSA)
-
Sun Certified Network
Administrator (SCNA)
-
Sun Certified Security
Administrator (SCSECA)
Please note that the goal of Sun certification is to
test on a particular job role. Thus, to prepare for a
certification exam we recommend Sun training and six to
twelve months of actual job role experience. Sun does
not claim that by taking courses you are guaranteed to
pass the certification exams, however we state that Sun training
is an important component in certification preparation.
Please see training preparation methods corresponding
with each certification listed above.
